Local SFTP Credentials

When a local SFTP credential is created, a directory on the DataBlend ftp server is allocated to that credential. This directory is not shared with any other SFTP credential.

Use RegEx

Optional

The Use RegEx toggle enables of multiple senders to allow any email addresses to send attachments. “Use RegEx” turned on allows multiple senders. .*from any address. If an email is received from an unmatched address or doesn’t pass spam or antivirus tests it will be discarded.

Receiving:

DataBlend email receipt requires adherence to general email security best practices. To avoid mail being blocked as spam, any sending domains should be correctly configured to require:

  1. DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)

  2. Sender Policy Framework (SPF)

  3. Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC)

Mail sent from domains that have not been configured correctly risk being blocked as spam and the corresponding attachments will not be uploaded into DataBlend.

Sending:

Sending files to DataBlend is similar to sending any other email, however extra precaution should be taken based on the sensitivity of the files being sent. Key considerations before sending files via email include:

  1. Data Classification - Does sending via email adhere to internal company policies/procedures (e.g. are files with the corresponding data security classification permitted to be emailed?)

  2. Mailbox - Who has access to the mailbox being used? If it’s a shared mailbox, are any files sent that other users would not otherwise have access to?

  3. Sent Mail - Are the emails and attachments saved in the sent folder from the sending mailbox by default? Is this desired?
