Pulling Data from DataBlend

Users can easily access the DataBlend Add-on from any Google Sheet. Users can run workflows and get data, get data from streams, get data from queries using the DataBlend Add-on.

Run Workflows and Get Data

  1. Open desired Google Sheet.

  2. Users will access the DataBlend Add-on by selecting the Extensions menu at the top of the page. Here users will see DataBlend Add-on at the bottom of the Extension drop-down menu.

  3. Select Run Workflow and Get Data from the DataBlend menu.

  4. The DataBlend – Workflows side menu will appear on the right of the screen.

  5. Select the group from which to collect data in the Groups section.

  6. Select the workflow to run from the Workflows drop-down menu.

  7. Select the collector from the Collectors drop-down menu.

  8. Select the Stream Type. Latest and Specific date and times are available for collection.

  9. Collections will be available to select from if a specific stream type is selected. However, if the latest stream type option is selected, the collections field is now locked to prevent the wrong collection date from being selected.

  10. Select the Collection Items from the drop-down menu.

  11. Select desired fields from the field options. Drag and drop the fields into the Selected Fields section.

  12. Click the Fill spreadsheet with data button. Please note, clicking the Fill spreadsheet with data button will re-populate the fields within the Google Sheet.

Get Data from Streams

Users can collect Stream data from DataBlend regardless of the association to a collector, query, or workflow.

  1. Open desired Google Sheet.

  2. Users will access the DataBlend Add-on by selecting the Extensions menu at the top of the page. Here users will see DataBlend Add-on at the bottom of the Extension drop-down menu.

  3. Select Get Data from Streams.

  4. The DataBlend – Streams side menu will appear on the right of the screen.

  5. Select the Group.

  6. Select the Data Source from the drop-down menu. Please note, all names within Google Sheets are synchronous with DataBlend names. The name of a Data Source within Google Sheets will be the same name as the Data Source within DataBlend.

  7. Select the associated Schema from the drop-down menu.

  8. Select the stream from the drop-down menu. Streams may be chosen as a specific date and time or as the latest available stream. Please note, selection of the latest stream will update as more streams are added.

  9. Select desired fields from the field options. Drag and drop the fields into the Selected Fields section.

  10. Click the Fill spreadsheet with data button. Please note, clicking the Fill spreadsheet with data button will re-populate the fields within the Google Sheet.

Get Data from Queries

  3. The DataBlend – Queries side menu will appear on the right of the screen.

  4. Select the group from which to collect data in the Groups section.

  5. Select the query to run from the Queries drop-down menu.

  6. Select the Query execution type. Latest and specific date and times are available for query results.

  7. Query results will be available to select from if a specific stream type is selected

  8. Select desired fields from the field options. Drag and drop the fields into the Selected Fields section.

  9. Click the Fill spreadsheet with data button. Please note, clicking the Fill spreadsheet with data button will re-populate the fields within the Google Sheet.
