FAQ

Why did eOne Solutions acquire DataBlend?

With this acquisition, eOne becomes the dominant integration solution for mid-market ERP applications like Microsoft (GP, BC and F&O), Sage (Intacct), Acumatica and NetSuite. eOne has a long history in the integration space, starting out by supporting Microsoft Great Plains customers over 20 years ago. Today, eOne's SmartConnect application is used by more than 6,000 organizations globally to integrate products across a wide number of software ecosystems.

As eOne looks to accelerate its growth, both organically and through acquisition, DataBlend's targeted strategy around the Office of the CFO and its rapid expansion in the past few years made the company a perfect fit with eOne's strategy to deliver no-code, low-code data management solutions for integration, migration, and reporting.

Collectively, the eOne and DataBlend offerings streamline integrations with major ERP, eCommerce, Shipping, Expense Management, CRM, Financial Reporting, Forecasting, and most other business productivity solutions

This acquisition also opens new markets for innovative solutions from eOne, like Popdock. Popdock takes a different approach for how organizations address their integration challenge. By opening virtual connections into applications, Popdock allows teams to see and share data without the need for the heavy lifting of typical data integration projects.

Used by 10,000 customers, Popdock is now readily available across the Sage Intacct ecosystem and to the rest of DataBlend’s customers. “Popdock is so unique, I just cannot wait to introduce it to all of the DataBlend customers, partners and the entire Sage Intacct ecosystem”, Ethan Carlson, DataBlend’s founder.

Why did eOne want two data integration solutions?

eOne has a mission to support its mid-market customers and its partners in every ecosystem they work in. eOne listened to partners and customers. They told eOne that they wanted more options than just Microsoft.

eOne debated building its own connections to products like Sage Intacct, Procore, and ADP organically or acquiring an existing solution. We decided that the best path forward was to partner with a company that had already developed a product and relationships in these ecosystems. We were very excited to meet DataBlend and over many months of courting agreed that a full acquisition was the best path forward for both companies and our partners/customers.

How will this impact the products I am currently using from DataBlend or eOne?

The acquisition of DataBlend by eOne will not impact the products you are using from either company. The products that have made these two companies standout in their respective markets will continue to be enhanced and supported by each company. That said, the expansion of the combined product teams will provide collective intelligence and shared knowledge that will be directed to improving both companies’ offerings.

An immediate example of the two development teams working is the availability of Popdock for DataBlend customers and partners. Up until now this was a function only available to users of eOne’s SmartConnect.

Why did DataBlend agree to be acquired by eOne?

Over the past four years, we have created a cohesive team that cares deeply about each other and the customers and partners we serve. To realize our product vision and expand our customer base, we essentially had two options - stay it alone by raising money from investors adding to our team and product incrementally or join forces with like-minded professionals who truly understand what it means to operate successfully (and profitably) in our market. By choosing the latter, we believe it gives our employees the best opportunity for professional growth, our customers and partners the best platform for product expansion and innovation, and our investors a fair return on their investment. And it is important to know that this is also the order in which we evaluated the opportunity!

Does this impact DataBlend’s relationship with Sage Intacct in any way?

DataBlend and eOne remain steadfast in the commitment to serving Sage Intacct and its entire ecosystem. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Sage Intacct's amazing team members and partners.  While not as familiar a name in the Sage Intacct space, eOne has been working with Sage for some time and is excited to bring innovative solutions like Popdock to market behind DataBlend’s larger footprint in this space. eOne is also excited to be able to continue a relationship with our customers that chose to move from a legacy ERP to Sage Intacct. “Up until now we did not have a viable option for our customers that chose Sage Intacct as their next ERP – and now we will be excited to present DataBlend to those customers” (eOne CEO Martin Olsen).

Does this impact DataBlend’s marketplace partnerships with software publishers like Procore, ADP, and SAP Concur?

Not at all. DataBlend will continue to support its marketplace partnerships and leverage the strengths of eOne to enhance our capabilities and deepen our connectivity to these and other great products.

If I already have an existing relationship with DataBlend/eOne, what impact will this have? Will we need to sign a new agreement?

From a day-to-day perspective, your relationship with DataBlend and eOne, whether a customer or a partner, will not change in any way. End User license agreements and Partnership agreements will be maintained through to expiry and renewal.

As a partner, what if we want to sell DataBlend, SmartConnect and Popdock - do we need two partnership agreements?

No, you will not. We hope all of our partners become comfortable selling the full range of products. Over time, we expect to have a comprehensive eOne partnership agreement that will cover the full range of products. We do not anticipate any significant changes to the existing agreements.

How will this impact pricing for services or subscriptions?

There will be no changes to pricing to either company’s offerings as a result of this acquisition.

Will this impact DataBlend’s current release cycle?

No. DataBlend’s product management and engineering team will continue to publish new releases in a similar timeframe.

Who will I go to for support?

The process for support remains unchanged, so you should continue to use your current channel. A nice benefit is the acquisition does create an expanded support team across East USA, Central USA, Denmark, Ireland, India and New Zealand, so we plan to train these teams on both products. We remain committed to providing world class support via direct phone, email, chat and support from an AI driven knowledgebase.

Who will my contacts be going forward?

All your contacts will remain the same to limit any disruption to your experience with eOne and DataBlend. With a larger team, you will have access to a wider and deeper pool of ERP integration experts.
